Editorial & Sourcing Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

NewsDeskOnline organizes publicly available news so readers can follow many publishers in one place. This page explains what we publish, what we don't, and how we treat the work of the journalists we link to.

What NewsDeskOnline is

NewsDeskOnline is a news aggregator and RSS reader. We gather headlines and short summaries that publishers make available through public RSS feeds and news services, organize them by category and topic, and send readers to the original publisher to read the full story.

Publishers keep ownership

  • Every headline, summary and article belongs to the publisher that produced it.
  • Each story card names its publisher and links directly to the original article.
  • We show only the headline and the short excerpt the publisher includes in its own feed. We never copy or republish full articles.
  • Readers should visit the original publisher for the complete, authoritative report.

What is original to NewsDeskOnline

We do not present third-party journalism as our own reporting. Our original writing is limited to the introductions, explanations, guides, topic descriptions and help text on our category, topic, local, source and guide pages. That text is written to help readers understand a subject and choose sources — not to rewrite the news.

How sources are selected

  • Built-in sources are established publishers with a public, working RSS feed and a clear record of identifying their newsrooms.
  • Feeds in our Feed Directory are checked to confirm they load and contain recent stories; feeds that stop working are removed.
  • We aim to include a range of outlets so readers can compare coverage across regions and perspectives.
  • Readers can add their own feeds. Those choices are personal and are not an endorsement by NewsDeskOnline.

Sorting and categories

Stories are placed into categories automatically based on the source and keywords in the headline. Sorting is not an editorial judgement about a story's importance or accuracy, and occasional misplacements can happen.

Sample stories

A small number of stories are clearly labeled samples used to show how the desk looks before live feeds load. They are fictional and are never presented as news.

Advertising and sponsored content

Advertising, sponsored stories and partner offers are always labeled ("Advertisement", "Sponsor" or "Partner offer") and kept visually separate from news. Advertisers do not influence which publishers or headlines appear. Commercial links are marked as sponsored. See our Disclaimer for details.

Corrections and removal requests

Because we link to the publisher's own article, corrections to a story are made by that publisher. If a headline on NewsDeskOnline is attributed to the wrong source, links to the wrong page, or a publisher would like its feed removed, please tell us through our contact form. If our own original text contains a mistake, we review reports promptly and update the page.
